CAIRNEYHILL – VELOCIPEDES
This quiet village has been much amused for two weeks past, with the nightly appearance of what the vulgar call ‘philosophers’, which have been driven from Dunfermline by lads belonging to the districts. The road being pretty level, is much prized by the velocipedists.

For driving a bus between Cairneyhill and Dunfermline at a speed exceeding 30 miles an hour on August 14, Robert Anderson, 30 Townhill Road, Dunfermline,was fined £2 at Dunfermline Sheriff Court yesterday.

MOTOR CYCLE BURST INTO FLAMES
A motor cyclist, Mr David Peacock, Main Street, Cairneyhill, had only travelled a few yards from his home yesterday when flames belched from the carburettor of his machine.
Dunfermline firemen were called out, but the cycle was destroyed. Peacock was uninjured.
