RAILWAY COACH CAMPING HOLIDAYS
British Railways in Scotland will experiment next month with the letting of camping coaches and camping apartments at the country stations, where this accommodation is available, for long weekends, ie Friday to Monday. This will allow those who wish it an opportunity to try out a camping holiday and see whether it might appeal for longer periods.
The charge for the weekend lets are £1 for a six berth camping coach, and for apartments £2 10/- (four berth) or £3 (six berth).
The accommodation is fully equipped with bedding, crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils.
Camping coaches are located at Aberfeldy, Appin, Arisaig, Eddleston, Glenfinnan, Loch Awe. Morar, Portessie, Strathyre, Strome Ferry.
The camping apartments are at Aberlady, Banchory, Cairneyhill, Culross, Gullane, Kilmany, Lochearnhead, Macduff, Old Meldrum, Torryburn, Whitehouse.
